Have you ever asked yourself the
importance of a name in regards to the success of a business?
“Wal-Mart” doesn’t sell walls yet they are the biggest retailer in
the world! Does “Target sell targets? Does “7 – 11” sell dice games
or are they really only open from 7 to 11? The answer is no to all
of the above questions. But “Tire Kingdom” does sell lots of tires
and ‘Best Buy” might offer the lowest price!
So what’s the point?
“Bobby’s Place” was named after Bob (the owner). “Chart House” meant
there were maps on the walls. “Spoonbills” was the owner’s favorite
wild bird. I guess a “Scrumpy” is some sort of drink popular in
England, “West Coast Grille” was the location. Bobby’s Place, Chart
House, Spoonbills, West Coast Grille, and Scrumpy’s are all former
names of businesses at this location since 1989! So obviously the
name didn’t help these previous owners achieve success or a loyal
customer base. So now comes the “Reef”, number six.
Why the name “Reef”? Consider these reasons: easy to spell, easy to
remember, easy to relate to pleasant thoughts of water and sea
creatures. Easy, easy, easy – what isn’t easy is staying consistent
with good food, great service, fair prices, friendly surroundings.
Our goal is to make these things happen and to make number six be
around for awhile.
